Commemorating 25 years of love, healing and service.

On April 23rd, we invite you to experience a celebration of healing and art in two parts. An in-person interactive tour of the Joshua House Health Center and a live stream program featuring our 2022 honorees. The in-person tour is designed to highlight the patient experience and the new clinic. The live stream program will celebrate our honorees. Proceeds from The Spirit of Healing Celebration will be used by Los Angeles Christian Health Centers to show God’s love by providing quality, comprehensive health care services to the homeless and underserved.

To minimize the number of people in the facility at one time, we will stagger entry times on the half hour, between 2pm-3:30pm. You will receive your entry time via email 72 hours prior to the event.

Dina Brent, MD
Pediatrician, Pico Aliso Clinic

Born in Honolulu, Dr. Dina Brent graduated from the Keck School of Medicine at USC, completed her residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She specializes in pediatrics because she was deeply affected as a high school student by a classmate’s death. Dr. Brent finds the opportunity to create Spirit-filled relationships with patients as the most rewarding part of her work at LACHC. She has served in Boyle Heights as a provider at the Pico Aliso Clinic for 14 years. Dr. Brent has been happily married to Dr. Gregory Brent for 45 years and is blessed with five children, three in-law children and two grandchildren.

Cynthia Langley, LCSW
Director of Social Services

Rev. Cynthia G. Langley, LCSW celebrates 42 years of service as a licensed clinical social worker, working with individuals, families and groups. Her goal is to provide client-centered treatment to children, youth and adults that uplift them from depression, anxiety or the challenges associated with communication or interpersonal relationships. Mrs. Langley, also a licensed and ordained minister, focuses on evangelistic outreach, pastoral training, and building up the body of Christ in isolated mountain camps, villages, African townships and the inner- city projects in South Central Los Angeles. Serving her family and others with passion, integrity and a Christian spirit is the heartbeat of her life.

Leeav Sofer
Artistic Director & Co-founder, Urban Voices Project

Leeav Sofer is a Los Angeles-based, community-driven artist exploring the intersection of music and societal healing, focusing on homelessness, social and emotional connection, and Jewish cultural heritage. Sofer is the co-founder and director of The Urban Voices Project. This program provides music workshops for the homeless and disenfranchised individuals on Skid Row and around Los Angeles County. Clients use arts to navigate their respective journeys off the streets and back into society. These programs have recognition on the front page of the Los Angeles Times, on NPR’s All Things Considered, and on NBC’s Today Show and allowed him to share the stage with various celebrities such as Dick Van Dyke, John Legend, and Joan Baez as well as local politicians and even television appearances.

LACHC requires guests to follow these guidelines:

  • All visitors must maintain a distance of 6 ft from other groups.
  • All visitors must wear a mask that always covers the nose and mouth.
